Its Indian summer-meaning warm, warm days, and warm humid nights (at least on the west coast)! The date on the calendar makes me want to start wearing light sweaters and long pants, but the actual temperature is saying something completely different. So, these high-waisted, loose, jogger-inspired jeans are the perfect touch of something different for this seemingly endless summer, which I love (summer and these jeans).

These big pockets, a loose leg with a jovial jogger feel jeans were paired with a simple black, halter style bodysuit which had me feeling '80s sheik, still summer-y, yet ready to embrace the new fall styles. I did bring a light wrap, which I didn't use, but I felt like I was trying. It is still warm here, and the humidity is giving the heat a bit of a punch. I added comfy strappy heels, but you could easily add a pair of cute booties to help transition your summer look into fall. I think in the next week or two this will be the next choice for me. So as we move into fall you can start to add small elements that are heavier, so you feel like your wardrobe is heading in that direction. A leather jacket slung over the shoulder would look super cool.

I also tried the jeans with a different top. Silky, off the shoulder, and a little more of a refined feel. Coupled with cute 'kitten-type' heels. This look wasn't quite as casual feeling as with the bodysuit. Both looked great.

With the black bodysuit I added some cute necklaces to break up the very simple black bodysuit. The shorter 'the eye' necklace and the longer one is the constellation of my astrological sign (yey pisces!).

Leopard!

Hello ladies! Are you feeling like this long time of confinement and weirdness is needing a bit of a pick-up? I was definitely feeling the blah-ness of this period in our lives and the heaviness of everything, so I reached for this light and airy, sheer yet stylish leopard print top for dinner with my family.

The top is sheer, but comes with a matching camisole which alleviates the need to look for something to wear beneath, and it matches perfectly, so you wont really see the camisole underneath, but can't see anything else either :). Fashioned with little gold buttons in the front and a tie at the top-this blouse has it all to put a little kick in your step. The sleeves-the sweet simple detail of being fitted allows the sleeve to blouse at the top, adding to the airy feel and adorable puff at the shoulder.

The jeans! Oh my they have the button detail on the 'pockets' and the front which just makes me love them even more. Full of stretch and comfort, I could wear these all day. The high-waist adds to the sleek and flattering look when tucking in the sheer blouse.

The jeans are not black, which would still be fantastic, but they are a deep deep blue.

Simple flats, sandals are even a low heel would of course be great for evening. I feel like even though it's September, it's still warm, so I want to create looks that start to move towards fall, but are still light and have a sense of airiness... since the weather has not turned yet. If you are somewhere that is getting colder in the day or evening, a black leather jacket would look amazing, or even a lighter blazer......

Summer sales! Ladies, if there are a few brands that you really like, find out if the store, or the stores in which the brands are sold, are having a summer sale. I can guarantee they are and its probably BIG! I drove 90 minutes to hit the sale of a brand I really like, which is worth it, as normally their pieces are a bit more expensive. So to change our scenery, I dragged my hubby along, we drive 1 1/2 hours, had a wonderful brunch, walked around a bit and scored 60% off of the cutest stuff that I can wear now, and into fall and winter! You will be seeing my finds on this blog for months to come.

So this dress is one of them. It's silk, with a self-tie belt that wraps around the body and ties on the side. It's a little flirty with the shorter length, a flouncy bottom and deep V style on top. On the shoulders there are little pleats sewn in which makes the top part of the dress loose and flow-y. The color is gorgeous for these hot summer days, and the long sleeves (you know I love) make it perfect for evenings inside with air-conditioning or a light breeze outside. It's the details such as these that make it worth the drive-oh yeah and the deep discount!

My shoes are adorable 'kitten heels' with a twist, and I threw on my favorite gold necklaces and ring. For my clutch I grabbed a little cotton bag, which is quite casual, but with the cotton material and saying, it felt right and fun to carry something lighter than a leather bag.

So....... if you know your favorite shop or brand is holding a summer sale, get in your car and go check it out! It will get you out of the house, make you look at something other than your walls, and you might just score some adorable pieces at amazing prices. Finding pieces such as these makes dressing easier, as it enables you to grab something out of your closet and just go. No fuss! Do it-you might be really happy you did, or at the least you got out of the house and did something.
